While we are always searching for toys that our dogs will LOVE and never want to put down, we also, as pet owners, are always searching for toys that are durable and safe.  Its not always a combination that is easy to find as we all know!  We at A Place For Paws are constantly on the lookout for the same thing – I mean let’s face it – we are first and foremost, dog owners after all!  Now we have one we would love to introduce you to!

Safe Made Pet Products has caught our eye and has earned a much coveted spot in our cadre of cool toys and products for sale.  The cool materials, colors, shapes and designs make for a completely interesting product – for people AND for dogs!

If safety is an issue than how about a toy tested to the federal standards for CHILDREN’S toys?   All Safe Made dog toys are indeed rigorously tested not only for dog safety but in order that everyone in the house will be safe.  These toys and feeding dishes are made BY pet owners FOR pet owners and were developed as the people running the company asked themselves what THEY would like to see on the market.  Upon realizing that there really were no standards governing the safety of pet toys, they asked themselves WHY?  Most people value their pets nearly as much as their children – why shouldn’t safety measures be in place to control the safety our our pet’s toys?  With all the recalls and problems that have been

Over the years, our shipping option has been singular.  We charge our customer just what UPS charges us to ship to them.  A simple passing along of the cost.  Unfortunately, UPS rates can seem a little high when one is only ordering our non raw items.  Certainly, when ordering frozen food as well as treats, we have the option of combining the shipment to keep shipping costs on the dry goods very low.  This doesn’t work, however, when only non raw items are needed.

Now order all the non raw items that you want for shipment costs of only $7.50 for orders over $25.00 - what a deal!!!

To combat this phenomena we are introducing flat rate shipping on all orders of non raw items over $25.  That’s right – you can order treats, toys, training tools, supplements etc., and have it shipped to you for the low low rate of $7.50!  When ordering in conjunction with our raw frozen products the lowest shipping rate will be applied as always.  In general combining the orders results in a lower ship rate than even the $7.50 but cheapest method will win in the end!

We hope that this will make it more economically feasible for people who simply need non raw items and no food at any given time.  Its our hope that this will ease the burden of shipping and help you to help yourself to our huge array of supplements, treats, toys and training aids!

Who doesn’t like a rousing game of fetch out in the yard with their beloved pet?  Part of the reason we own dogs is because of the joy they give us with a simple game of frisbee and tag out in the yard or a rousing game of tug in the living room.  Over the years, the games that we play with our dogs have morphed into something more.  Puzzle games that challenge us to challenge them have become all the rage.  Helping your dog learn to problem solve and have fun while doing it has become yet another way for us to enjoy our canine companions.  It seems now that games are moving to yet another level – board games that you and your dog actually play with other people and their dogs!  Game nights that include us and our four legged companions – what a cool concept THAT is!

Do You Mind pits team against team in a fast paced game where the team consists of you and your pooch!  Roll the dice, pick a card and get your pup to do the activity listed before the timer runs out.  Each activity completed gives you a certain amount of points – the team with the most points in the end WINS!  There are several variations which makes Do You Mind 4 games in one – there is even a Solitaire game where you can practice with your dog getting ready for the day when the competition shows up!

Funagle is the game that will make you belly laugh until everything hurts!  The object is to “funagle” your dog into doing wild and crazy activities like a moonwalk or crawling or sticking out their tongue.  Every time you succeed you get a tag – person and dog with the most tags at the end of the game win!  It doesn’t require any training or skill – its just plain old silly fun!

MuttHeads is the game that requires that not only your dog do activities but that YOU do as well!  Depending on the card you pick, your dog may be the one balancing a treat on his nose or it just might be you!  You can imagine the hilarity that will ensue as the tasks get goofier and goofier!  This card game helps you to form a real bond with your dog – because after all, you both look pretty silly but its ALWAYS better to look silly together with the one you love!

Take your relationship with your dog and move it on up to the next level!  Better than Monopoly or Scrabble, at least you won’t have to worry about your dog cheating or stealing from the bank!  Have a fun night with friends and family and at the same time deepen the bond between you and your pooch!  Playing a board game with your dog is not just a silly idea – its a reality and probably one of the best times you’ve ever had!
