Early puppy training prevents many probelms This is a question we are asked frequently. Many owners are surprised to learn that not only can they begin training their puppy at 8 weeks, but it is ideal if they do. Puppies tend to learn quickly with reward based methods and can be molded into the dog you want them to be. Early puppy training can prevent problem behaviors such as pulling on lead, jumping and being unmanageable. So what things should you teach your puppy? Here is a list of what we think are the most important: • Positions: sit, down, stand, wait * Indicates things which your puppy will learn through socialization.
A Place for Paws offers Puppy Kindergarten for early training and socialization. We also offer Puppy Play and Enrichment on Thursday evenings at 7:30 PM and PlayDay on Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
