A good rule of thumb is to feed your pet 2% to 3% of his/her body weight per day. This general rule can be modified to suit the individual needs of your pet. By monitoring the condition and weight of your pet (check ribs and waistline) you can increase or decrease his/her daily rations as needed. The amount of food should be based on the total consumption of all food fed to your pet, including bones, in a 24 hour period.
For example, a 50 pound dog should be fed between 1 and 1½ pounds of food each day. This could consist of ¾ pound of Beef & Bone for Dogs, ¼ pound of Just Veggies and a medium sized bone.
